Important information about appointments
We are very pleased to advise that we have now been working with our new Patient Triage system for one month! We are delighted with the way it is working and have had some very good feedback from patients. There have been a few little hiccups along the way as you would expect with any new system, but these have been ironed out now.
We had wanted to be able to keep Triage open from 7am – 4pm every weekday, but the demand for appointments is still overwhelming and often by midday we have reached capacity and don’t have any more appointments available to offer. At the moment we still are still short staffed with regards to both nurses and doctors. This is unlikely to be resolved in the near future and is due to circumstances beyond our control.
Patient safety is always our highest priority and we need to make sure that we do not overfill clinics and ask the clinicians to work in an unsafe manner. We do keep a couple of appointments available for medical emergencies each day and at the moment these are being used most days.
For the reasons stated above, we have now decided to open Triage at 7am and close at 12pm each day. If your problem cannot wait till the triage system reopens then please use NHS 111 online, or call 111.
Thank you
